As some of you may know the row counter by Clover is a Bright Neon Green

Well, that just doesn't work for me.

So I got out the Martha Stewart paint, sharpie markers, loctite glue and some gear and got to work changing it to something more presentable for daily wear.

Here is the result.

I find myself putting it on when I go to break at work when I knit some rows on the current sock on the needles, and I just keep it on for the entire day.

Some people have thought it looks like an owl as it hangs around my neck.

Sure, that's cool, better then the Neon Green !

It is time for the Winter Restaurant Week here in Ann Arbor.

One of my mottos is: You have to eat, you might as well enjoy it.

That being said, restaurant week is a time to pop in to a new restaurant and give them a try, or just take advantage of a great deal at one of your favorite foodie hang outs.

We try to make a stop at two or three places every restaurant week.

Yesterday (Tuesday) we stopped in for dinner at Argiero's. We were not interested in starters and dessert so we ordered right off the regular menu and enjoyed our favorite dishes. I even had lunch for work today.

Today (Wednesday) we are going to Conor O'Neill's, they have one of the BEST deals for the participating restaurants. 2 for $25 dinner that includes a shared appetizer, beer sampler and dessert, we each get a Full Entree. The first time we went restaurant week to Conor's I was expecting them to make the entrees a smaller portion, but no, it is the full entree. Great Deal! Rob likes Kate's Shepards Pie (actually a cottage pie since it is beef) and I usually get the Veggie Boxty.

Thursday we are going to our regular weekly hang out at Jerusalem Garden, BEST Middleastern food in town! They are right next to some crappy construction so we want to make sure they continue to be supported during this time.

Haven't decided on Friday's food adventure yet, but there is always something good to be had in A2

It's Log Log Log

So when I was creating the goodies to put on display at the hospital this last fall I realized I needed a cool place for the Amigurumi Frogs to hang out.... Enter Log!

I did a quick search online to see if there were any designs to get me pointing in the right direction... Nope.

This is what I came up with:

I did the main structure of the log and then cut batting to the length of the log, rolled it back up and put inside.

I capped the ends added a nub off the side that I crocheted separately then stuffed with polyfill and stitched into place.

I created some circles of moss and then added those on too.

And for those of you who desperately want to sing it....

Welcome 2012

This year is starting off better then last already!

My studio tends to leak into the rest of the house quite frequently, my husband is very understanding of the chaos that is created =) I have made good headway in making our living space more livable. As I evaluate what I want to focus on for this year I am able to move some things into bins that will go into the studio closet for another time.

I am preparing materials to make creating the Poppets flow easier when I want to work on them, that means tea dying fabric, ironing washed fabric and trimming some fabrics down to the general size I will need them. I started with clothing and costumes when I got into my fiber art, and the prepping and cutting of the pieces has always been my least favorite part of the process. I prefer the assembling, seeing were the project takes me, and the fun in what it becomes.

I have also started my research on trying to get published in magazines this year. Thanks to my friend Lynn for all her encouragement to get my plushies out there. I have a Mermaid Poppet in a box waiting for her paperwork and label to go out and show off to those in the biz.

Snuggle Poppets

He thinks his jumper makes him look cool and retro.

He is a kid friendly version of the Peculiar Poppet, that is Snuggle friendly..... A Snuggle Poppet

I changed up some of the material to make him more snuggle friendly
Hand spun hair is replaced with a soft acrylic yarn.
Paint and button eyes are changed to felt with free-motion stitching.
I haven't decided on if he or others should have any additional embellishments, I think that will depend on the body fabric and what it inspires. Maybe some applique images.

I did not put a collar on him since his fabrics matched up perfectly and I don't want any buttons or charms to cause an uncomfortable snuggle.

Pizzelle Season

Do you have a favorite cookie during the Holidays?

Growing up my mom and I used to make Pizzelles together.

Our traditional flavor was Anise. Over the years I have found that most American palettes (mostly my husband) are not used to anise cookies, so I tweeked the recipe to make cinnamon cookies as well.

As a team Mom and I had no problem working the pizzelle press and trimming the extra (mmmm, snack).

We had to keep track of how long the press was closed to the darkness we wanted, this became a bit harder when I got older and was making them on my own. Drop in batter, look at timer, trim cookie if needed, rotate them on the cooling rack, keep an eye on timer for when the press needed to be opened, remove cookies, repeat.

I was quite a task for one person, Until.... I found the Cuisinart pizzelle press. This one has a cook setting like a toaster, and a light that goes between red and green. Gree when I need to remove cookie and put in batter and Red to let it cook.... LOVE IT !!

It took a bit of balance but after a few batches I found the amount of batter to place on each side for the cookies without a bunch of extra to clean up. I usually go a little shy and the cookies are smaller then perfect, but they all taste just as good and no waste.

If you find a pizzelle press and add it to your cookie making experience, they usually come with a manual that includes the recipe for Anise cookies. I usually use both anise extract and seeds, sometimes I double the anise in the manual recipe, but find what you like.

For Cinnamon, just replace the Anise as follows:

1 tsp Anise for 1 heaping Tbsp Cinnamon

I like to add a touch of nutmeg to the cinnamon recipe as well.

Other flavors are great to play with, just give it a try. One year I did banana nut pizzelles by using banana flavoring and finely diced walnuts.

Wow, I feel like I have been running crazy lately. Lots of shows and working on toys for the shows.
I am in the final week of artful chaos. I have a show at the University of Michigan Hospital tomorrow and then time to work on some art stuff and pizzelles for friends and family.
I promise to get back to the Peculiar Poppet process as well. I left of at getting ready to stuff and embellish, the final step!
I am really excited about how well the Peculiar Poppets have been received at the shows. I am happy to see people enjoying them as much as me =)

Parking can be tricky there, but 25% of all sales will go to Patient Services.

If you have your eyes on a toy in the Oma's Patch shop you may want to get it while you can.

The shop will be closed starting the evening of Friday 12/2 and reopen Wednesday evening 12/7

Ulla has completed her travels winning Best in Category (Fiber Art) at the

University of Michigan Health System Employee Art Exhibit.

Yay Ulla !!!

She is now ready to find a home and settle down. She enjoys knitting and would love to go knit bombing.

Amelia Loves airplanes!

She was able to visit with the pilots once and got a really cool button with an eagle and propellers that she Never takes off.
She wants to take flying lessons when she gets older, she just hopes she will be tall enough.

Peculiar Poppets are so much fun to create, I love how their personalities develop as they come together.

Kettle dyed roving

I just couldn't stop spinning.... except when I went to eat.

After the core spinning with the Bricolage Batt this morning I just couldn't stop, I wanted to see what this amazing Kettle Dyed yarn would do. My friend Carla hand dyes and spins, so of course I had to buy some of the lovely fibers from cjkoho designs. It was so exciting to see the colors of this kettle dyed pack, it is fascinating to me that different fibers can be put into the same dye batch and how differently they respond.
I'm not sure if I want to use this for doll hair or a scarf.... I still have more to spin so maybe a both =)

Spinning!

Instant Gratification!

I love it when I can see the results of my efforts almost instantly. What a fun way with spinning.
On the chair is a Batt of fibers from Bricolage Studios
On the bobbin is the wonderful result of the core spinning. I am using left over sock yarn for the core, it keeps it from getting to bulky with my smaller wheel. I love the lumpy bumpy goodness that pops up in the fibers. I have some of the Bricolage silk that I have added in spots as well, Oooooooo =)
Bricolage studios also offers handspun yarns if you don't have a wheel but love the look, it is worth the click to visit her store.

Next for the wheel is fibers from cjkoho
I think I will do a single spin and then go back with some of that for a core spin.... we shall see what the fiber tells me to do =)

Peculiar Poppet Progress v.4

Bringing them to life!

With right sides together I pin and stitch around the body with arms and hair on the inside. Pinning and stitching around the hairline is a bit tricky, the more hair the more patience. I leave a small opening on one side under the arm to turn and stuff and while stitching around I add my small red Oma patch around the hip area of the other side. I stitch over the hair yarn a few times to make sure everything is secure.
I trim the hair yarn across the top and the fabric around the curved areas then turn the doll right side out. They are a bit flat without their plush, but with hair and arms in place the personalities are really starting to come out.
Next is time to Stuff the doll, tack down the hands and add embellishments.

Peculiar Poppet Progress v.3

Time to start adding some personality to these happy little ones =)

During this step of the process I add the hand-stitching to the faces, that starts with a quirky little smile.

I then choose buttons for their eyes, I love to use ones that are different sizes and don't match, makes them a bit more curious. I choose a color of embroidery floss and stitch around one of the white area (inside, on, or around the edge) and add the smaller button for that eye, then I stitch the bigger button into the other white area. I try to place the buttons in their eye area to look somewhat random, to add to the playful nature of their expression.

Their face is now complete so I move on to the hair selection. I LOVE to use handspun and art yarns for this, it really makes them unique and draws your attention to the details within the yarn. I look at the body fabric and facial expression and try to pair up a yarn then will bring out the next level of personality for them.

Next process includes adding the hair, and stitching together

Special Order: Crocheted Pig with Wings

It took me a long time to find wings that I liked for this request, but they turned out to be magical. Who would have know just the right wings could make a pig fly.
This little piggy has been buzzing around the house since he got his wings. I think he keeps doing it because the other plushies find it so funny.
I am working on the second one for the pair and that one will have wings and a halo, a special angel pig.

Excitement in the Giraffe cube

The exhibit at the University Hospital is going well, all the Giraffes have sold. Looks like one of them was trying to give a kiss to one of the kids in the area.

I is great to be able to visit the exhibit on random days during lunch. I feels really rewarding to have people walk by and smile, or stop to take a closer look. One day an employee was talking on her cell phone and pacing in the center area of the cubes, almost like it was giving her a big hug of comfort.

Trip to the Fiber Expo

It is very rare that I spend less then an hour to drive to a fiber expo, sometime only a half hour if it is the somewhat local spinning group that does shows a few times a year. This weekend there was the Fiber Expo at the Washtenaw County Fairgrounds, Yippie! Only and 8 minute drive, it is almost as fast as running to the market! I wish I could have justified spending more money on the soft, lovely fibers, but I was able to get some goodies that made me Very Happy.

Earlier this year Lynn and I were at a fiber show and she asked a vendor what the Lucet was and received an impromptu lesson. I found some itty bitty teeny tiny ones and thought they would be a wonderful accessory for some of the Peculiar Poppets, they do know how to knit after all, so why not making I-cords with the lucet. Hee hee, aren't they cute:

My main objective was to hunt down Emily from Bricolage Studios for an orifus hook and soft goodness. I found her busy carding new batts and picked one up with the hook, along with some soft textures to add to the spinning, Oooooooo, Aaaaaaaaaa :

I think I am going to play a bit more with my spinning before I grab onto the Bricolage goodness, I want to do the fibers justice in the end result.
Well I am off to the wheel to spin!!!

Peculiar Poppet Progress v.2

Eye see you... well almost =)

Heads are attached to bodies and eyes are started. Now on to the hand stitching to finish the eyes and add a playful little smile.

Once that is added I can match up hair and sew up the bodies.... the little ones are coming together... hee hee

Then the details.

Step by Step they come together. Each one matched with yarns, ribbons and embellishments that bring out their character.

Work in Progress... The Process

I'm working on another batch of Peculiar Poppets, so I thought I would share part of my process with you.
I don't use a pattern for the doll, just my playful sketch with notes written around the image. I did create an arm pattern since I want those to be a bit more consistent. The rest is all a general shape.
I love tea dyed fabric for the flesh-tone, so after cooking up a batch, drying and ironing I am ready to go.
I cut the rectangles for the bodies and head sections and trace the arm pattern along a strip of the tea dyed fabric.
Now off to the sewing machine to stitch the arms, trim and turn.

Only five weeks until my first show:
Time has flown by this year and we have to start thinking of the holidays already. I always loved giving handmade goods to friends and family over the years. There is something special about a gift made by a person, not a machine. If you make it yourself, or buy it from another artist, it just seems to really say "I am thinking of you". Granted I am always happy with a gift card to my favorite coffee shop or a bag of coffee (just pick the bag of choice with care because roasters are artists too).

As you start to think of who you want to give gifts to this year, make them special and buy handmade, they will love you for it. I try to support my artist friends and locals first, then I hit Etsy, sometimes it depends on what I am looking for. Does your friend have an etsy account, look to see what they have marked as their favorite shops and items for ideas (I've used that trick already for a friend), then you know they will truly Love it.

Poly pellets are used to weigh the bottom down and then polyfill for the remaining stuffing. His bottom closure is covered with felt hand sewn into place, while his top closure is covered with a hat made from the toe section of a black tube sock, hand sewn into place.

His approximate size is 6 1/2 inches tall and 3 inches wide.

I enjoy creating toys that make people smile. I grew up helping my Oma (German for grandmother) with local charity organizations and it shaped me into the person I am today. Even though she is no longer with me I still continue to share what we started together, giving comfort to others in little ways. I love to see people smile when they see my toys; it is what drives me to continue on the path I have chosen for my art, the huggable kind.

When I create a toy I think about how people will feel when they see it. While working on a sketch or with the fabric I try to bring it to life in a way that will affect others in a positive manner. I keep most of my toys safe for little ones by using safety eyes and embroidery to avoid choking hazards. I love how the light reflects off of safety eyes to give them a bit of life, or an embroidered crooked smile makes them a bit mischievous. By keeping the toys kid friendly they can be a great comfort for all ages, because no matter how old we are there is still a little kid in each of us. The use of fabric and fibers helps keep the toys huggable, we all need a hug with a special friend from time to time.

Inspired by Goldfish Crackers!

Can't eat these ones though, well I guess you could if you wanted a bit of dry mouth.

I made some penguins a few weeks back and it has been bugging me that I did not have any fish for them to snack on. While these ones are a bit big for them they are cute. I think I will dig out my thinner yarn to whip up some fish for the penguins.

Another inspiration with these fish is that I was thinking of displaying them in a glass bowl with blue marbles on the bottom, a co-worker suggested a crochet bowl... even though you can't see through the crocheted bowl I like her suggestion of a color game with a child, have the fish in different colors (like the yummy rainbow goldfish crackers) and they can put them in the fish bowl. I think I will crochet the bottom section of the bowl in blue like water and the upper area in white. I was thinking when I change colors I will section off the inside and stuff it to help with the structure. I hope I can get this done in time for the hospital show inventory list which is due Monday. I want to have all the items complete when I turn in the list, nothing holding over my head.

I've been busy working on toys for an exhibit coming up at the University of Michigan Hospital. My peculiar poppets will be part of my Huggable Art collection.

Perriana has a handspun yarn (purchased at a fiber show) necklace and a horn that calls to one of her special friends.
Her hair is made from handspun/hand-dyed yarn from Carla at cjkojo designs along with a couple other handspun finds. She has a cute little crown of three pearl beads =)

I am working on a pair of toe up socks. I found a cast on that I absolutely LOVE and I'm hooked! I used to do cuff down but found that I was so afraid of running out of yarn and the foot ended up being to short. One of the gals at the day job kept getting handmade socks because they wouldn't fit me =(

I spent most of my Saturday working on penguin parts and was able to complete one penguin for the day. Getting the next three done should go quickly since the beaks, eyes, wings and feet are all ready just to be attached to the body as I construct them.

I really like the round body of this penguin, it gives hims such a playful look. I did change the wings to a design I like better that I found working on another pattern.

Tea Dyed again

I was cleaning up around the studio space again today, trying to get some of the things that have made there way out to the living room back into that space.... I don't think it will all fit =/ Glad the hubby doesn't complain about it. Anyway, in the process I came across a plastic bag I stuffed a batch of used dryer sheets into and decided that I should get those processed with the tea dyeing and stored away, every little bit of space helps right?

I love the natural look of tea dyeing. If I want a solid look I add the tea bags and steep them in the hot water before adding the fabric, but my favorite is to add the tea bags as I add the fabric. This process gives an uneven dye with lighter and darker shades all depending on were the tea bags were against the fabric.

Here is what the dryer sheets look like after I rinse and dry them out:

I like to have the sheets flat for use, I can always smoosh them up again if I need that for a look. With the ironing board out (since I only use it with projects) and a hot iron, I sandwich a single sheet between two pieces of fabric and give a quick press. I try to get most of the wrinkles out, but not overly worried, just easier to store if they are pressed flat.

Amigurumi is so much fun! Crocheted toys are a blast to make and a joy to give. I find kids of All ages like them, from babies to the kid at heart.

This little guy is so cute and fun!
A bit time consuming to make, but just to sweet. I struggled to find a good giraffe pattern, but came up with combining elements from a few different patterns out there to get one I think is just right. Once I have everything complete for the Hospital Exhibit I am working on I plan to get some more of these little guys made up.

My day job is at the University of Michigan Medical School. We are linked to the University Hospital and share resources. It is a great honor to work for an institute that strives to better peoples lives through research and medicine.
This is the second year I have been in the Employee art exhibit and find it wonderful to see what the staff creates on their own time. We spend so much time with people at work and that environment that it may never occur to us that they are so creative when not in the office.
Congratulations to all the Artist for showing wonderful work!

I really like how this blanket is turning out!

It is almost the size of a twin comforter, or will fit on the top of a full bed. I may have to make a smaller one for me after this project is done =)

Yesterday I gave a plush piggy to a little girl outside the Hospital Cafeteria with her family, and today I left a Purple Patchwork Bird at the Cancer Center for someone to find.

He has been watching me knit with Fergus and Newman and wanted to give a go at it while he waits for his sweetheart. So after a long day at the "day job" and visiting with my art friends in the evening, I returned home to relax. I spent some time with the Husband and Simon =) Busy but good day.

Piggy Parts!

I spent my Wednesday evening preparing piggy parts for 10 piggies I have to make for requested orders. I've got a busy weekend in store for me completing all these little guys. One pig takes about 2 1/2 hours to complete from start to finish, I have adjusted my method to assembly line them by working on one feature during the evening. This Thursday will be closing up the back ends on the piggies, then onto the feets =)

I love to tea dye fabric and used it to create an aged look for his head and arms.
His body is made out of suiting, accented with a rick-rack ribbon and an old magical key
His face was designed with eyes that were created with a combination of fabric paint, buttons and embroidery. His mouth is embroidered for a cute smile and playful yarn hair.

This is Fergus, he is a funny little fellow. He really likes the Rold Gold Everything Bagel pretzels.
I am creating more dolls/toys with his quirkiness that will be available at my etsy store. I hope they don't all like the little pretzel bagels or we will have a problem around here, we shall have to see what gets created =)

I need to find a name for this series of doll, I was thinking Ragged Rag Doll, but they are not very Ragged or Rag like. Any Suggestions?

Working with Photoshop

So, I've taken some pictures and I wanted to get some goodies up on etsy, but I'm finding the file sizes are larger then the site allows for upload... pulling out my photoshop elements book to see how I can reduce them. I love the computer books by Peachpit Press, they are great for visual people. They not only tell you what you need to do, but show you a picture of how it should look.
With that being said... I will work really hard to get some more toys posted on etsy this weekend!!

Getting it together

Now that the shows are done for the season, I need to start getting it together. The word "IT" covers a lot though.
Cleaning up the studio, I think a tornado hit in there.

I have been crazy about the Mug Rugs! I spent all weekend next to my sewing machine. I had my chair set up to swivel from the sewing machine, to the cutting mat, and the computer. Mug Rug

I have always found it a bit strange that coasters for your mug/cup are only a little larger then your cup. If you don't pay attention to were you set it down on the coaster you might catch the lip or edge and your cup can tip over and spill your drink. This does not happen to me often, but when I am ready a good book I can get distracted =)
I have started creating Mug Rugs! Large enough for a mug or cup along with a small snack.

Fabrications is almost here !!!!

Tuesday night is marketplace at Fabrications. I will have dolls and toys available if you are attending or in the Kalamazoo area and decide to come for a visit at the Radisson Plaza Hotel on West Michigan Ave. There will be a collection of vendors and a wonderful Exhibit to view (Blurred Boundaries fiber art).

Attending Fabrications for me also means I will not be able to ship any purchase from the shop during that time. Final shipments this week will be the morning of 8/28 and will resume after Labor Day.

My brother (Gerhard/JR) moved to Florida with his girlfriend (Melisa) a couple weeks ago, but before they left I had them over for a homemade family dinner. I gave Melisa a Pixie and Oma doll to take with her for their new place and rememberance of me. I have since received this message from Melisa about the dolls:
" I wanted to write you and tell you that when you gave me the 2 dolls you made, it struck me as funny bcuz they are so differant-just like my nieces! 1 is 11 and the other 13. Well, I pulled them out to show them and tell them about you, and they both DOVE at the doll I KNEW matched them!! LMAO!! Needless to say I no longer have the wonderfil dolls you sent with me! They both fell in LOVE with them and I was so thrilled!!!! I thought that would bring a smile your face..the older girl is more punkish-she loved the doll with funky eyes, the other is blond and goofy-she loved the smiley cute one! THANKS so much, but I lost the dolls!! "

Wow, it has been longer then I realized since I last posted a blog. I have a new great (or would it be grand) niece, as sweet as pie =) I have created a batch of ladybug goodies for her, and many more to come. May was also filled with helping out others in need: a co-workers house was taken by a fire so I gave her some journals, art quilts and a sock monkey to help their temporary place feel homey, two of my husbands co-workers were in the hospital so we gave them Oma dolls to help bring smiles to their faces during their recovery.
I have been working on some toys that will be posted in June to help raise funds for Breast Cancer research. Keep your eye on the Shop for those cuties.

Cloudy Day

Today was a really cloudy day, really it was. It was rainy and overcast all day. A cloudy day can make people so sleepy or sad, so I made Happy Plush Clouds.

They have 9mm safety eyes (great for all ages), felt cheeks and a rosey smile. Each cloud was machine stitch to the individual shape, then filled with polyfil and hand stitched closed.

Boobette - Breast Cancer Survival

This is Boobette.

I made her in thought of those who fight against Breast Cancer and the many lives it effects. I have been fortunate that my family has not been directly effected, but when I found out one of my friends was a survivor I gave her this playful pop tart doll to show my support. She named her Boobette and took her onto her team for the 3 Day Walk in 2009. Boobette got along wonderfully with the other teammates and made many friends along the way.

Mina and I are working on more Pink Pop Tart dolls to help support Breast Cancer Research. Each one will be a little different, but all of them will help find a cure.

In Mina's picture, the buildings behind her are the University of Michigan Mott Women and Children's hopital (tan) and the lighter building in the left background it the beautiful and really big replacement of Mott. It is going to be an amazing facility.

In June I will be releasing Pink Pop Tart dolls and Pink Ninja warriors to my shop. $5 from the sale of each pink plushie will go toward the Susan B. Komen research as a donation through my friends 3-Day walk. I will keep a running tally of how much is being raised through Oma's Patch at the shop.

If pink is not your thing, don't worry, I will be arranging an entire week were every item sold will contribute $5 to the cause.

Ninjas 1-6 are now available at Oma's Patch
Numbers are used to protect the identity of each Ninja. He comes prepared with throwing stars at the ready (embroidered)
Each toy is made with a sturdy bottom weight fabric to hold up to lots of play. The face panel is hand sewn and safety eyes used to be child friendly. Poly pellets are used to weigh the bottom down and then polyfill for the remaining stuffing. The bottom closure is covered with a circular felt piece hand sewn into place while the top closure is covered with a hat made from the toe section of a new tube sock, hand sewn into place.

Size is approximately 6 1/2 inches tall and 3 inches wide

Made in smoke-free, pet-free home.

Ninjas are coming soon... after they come out of hiding

Where did the Ninjas go?
As I have been completing Ninjas I have put them down next to the flat Construction Workers, but they keep disappearing. I cannot share them until they reveal themselves.

I caught something out of the corner of my eye, on the bookshelf... I think it was a Ninja hiding among the books. They move quickly and hide is shadows so I am not sure.

So, I have convinced the Ninjas to come out and show themselves with the promise that I will not reveal their names. They will go by numbers to protect their identities.

They are currently posing for pictures and will arrive on the Oma's Patch etsy shop soon.
Numbers 1-6 will be posted, with felt patch around the eyes varying for different skin tones.

Working on Whabblers

Timber !!!! Watch out for that tree. This lumberjack might not be able to help you out with your yard work, but he can provide lots of playtime.

These are part of the new line of toys at Oma's Patch called Whabblers, specially designed for boys of all ages.
Each lumberjack is made with from a repurposed flannel shirt. The face panel is hand sewn and safety eyes used to be child friendly. The Axe is sewn on by hand from felt. I'm doing some research to add a King Whabbler, I'm got the crown figured out, and now I think his accessory will be a felt septer.
Mina helped me find one online to use as a template for the shape.

Introducing Wilhelmina

Such a big name for a little doll, she prefers to go by Mina.
Mina is only 3 3/4 inches tall.
She is modeled after the Oma Doll (available at Oma's Patch)
She is going to help me on my adventures of visiting stores and making dolls, toys and other goodies.

Time is flying by this winter. I have been organizing my studio and designing a new plushie.

I have loved birds since I was little. I use to sit out on the deck at my Oma & Opa's and learn to tweet like the birds, in hopes to talk to them. I see beauty in so many of the birds like Cardinals, Humming Birds, and the little black and yellow ones. I even loved Tweety Bird and would jump from the hood of my dad's truck trying to fly.
